Oh, well I guess you would've shown the exploit a different way that didn't "break the rules", huh? I suppose that means anyone who turns in a bug report is really using exploits themselves to show the bug in the first place, thus breaking the rules, right?
Your logic astounds me.

What makes me laugh the most about this is the people claiming they were given the items and didnt know they were gained through an exploit. HELLO ?people dont just give away items worth 100k+50ecto , your not fooling anyone and you deserve a ban just as much as the people using the exploit.

Issue just looks to be fixed, but its not.
1. Banning a few users who was so stupid and made 1000 copies of AoT.
What does it solve? Okey it filters out really stupid players. Does it effect people who have been doing it for a long time? no.
2. GW based on database. Sure you can run a script that will list how many people had zerp AoT yesterday and how many have more then 100 today. Okey - ban those - problem fixed? no.
People who started this has been doing it for quite some time as I understand. Smart people maybe made 10-20 AoT and stored across a several accounts. Average player with 20 AoT (thats 1200 ecto) will be suited for life. And all what is needed - a bit of a brain, 3-4 accounts and 5 AoT on each.
What banning solve. Well its a PR trick to scare away people who give impression that we have this under controll. What is actually does is covering up the real truth behind and delaying the problem. Its a nice way to make another PR we-do-care banning session just to make sure people buy GW:EN. Kinda bad timing ?
Some accounts was banned yes, but was they all banned? Simply not possible. So what looks now as a solution is actually no solution at all. Some people made a real good buck on this exploit and many will walk away. Hey maybe some smart guys gave away this "secret" exploit to cover up their dirty work?
In long therm we will see more and more arm brace to enter the marked - it just this time people behind it will be making real cash out of it and not the 1-10k.
The only solution at this point as I see it, is to make AoT useless (not possible to trade for anything) and introduce AoT2 or something. After all how many people have 10 Armbrace's in they storage as "money storage"?.. Some guys like ecto plasm with nice auction a few days before with 250 AoT... they wont loose much anyway.

what is even more questionable is that they knew about guild wars guru and this topic and decided to post as soon as the ban was issued and not write a support ticket.

Whatever happens in the armbrace issue happens.. the one issue i'm SICK OF READING AND HEARING ABOUT IS ECTOS!!
Guys... let's set the record straight. Over the winter we had winterfest.. everyone was on break.. people were beating Nightfall with their paragons and dervies and ectos became a commodity because well.. FoW armor on their new characters. Makes sense right? Now.. between that time and when Hard Mode came around... ectos dropped to 9k each at the mat trader. Seeing as the market is something I actively watch, this is something i paid attention to. Now... with that said, when Hard Mode was unleashed and suddenly scrolls came about for access to UW during times we didn't have favor, it exposed the ability to play in UW even more. Hard Mode introduced increased drops, UW scrolls introduced more chances for that to happen. Now... there was something that for a couple weeks i'd noticed that a lot of the long time players actually sold all their ectos, equip... everything and hoarded their gold and quit GW. I noticed this because a few friends of mine did it... several posts were here on guru of people actually selling their ectos and not in OVER abundance. I have 294 ectos myself. I want you guys to think about all these factors for a moment. One more thing to mention and i'm sure someone is going to want to say something... LOOT SCALING! For those who know it know that rare mats are unaffected by Loot Scaling, meaning that a person can still solo UW and farm ectos on his or her own. So you wanna know what happened to ectos? Look no further than what i just read. Are ectos duped? If they were duped... you honestly think they'd be 5.5k? No! Ectos would be about the same price as your ambers, jades, and steel ingots... NOT around the price of a ruby or diamond. So lets get our heads outta our backsides and wake up. One more thing... Ectos did spike briefly this past Thursday/Friday to 7k and then dropped suddenly (as expected) when the festival started. For those who have paid attention over the years... when a festival comes to town, ectos drop. Feel free to speculate, criticize... whatever all you want. You take 5 - 10 min to really think about it... look into it... see how ectos didn't just suddenly DROP overnight but rather trickled down over what was actually months... you'll see that I'm right.

"...Uhhh.... what? ? ? What does Herb, or any other collectors, have to do with this? The least you could do is make your flames coherent..." said Oofus
Why are you so naive?
Maybe you are doing it on purpose?
You dont see the link between Herb & his mates (famous rare items collectors) & the armbrace trick ???
Come on you jokin
Herb hasnt been playin GW for months, he said he prefered to stay in LA (no Los Angeles but Lion's Arch) chating through vent/ts with friends, showing each others items, surfing the net....to check prices maybe
He is one of the best informed "bizeness player" in GW

<--- perma-banned and wasn't even logged on for the whole fiasco.
They must be banning for other reasons as well?
My guild members eluded to the fact that I might have gotten banned for recently having opened trade with them. They had some of those "no-no" items through what they thought was one of their friends who was “quitting that game” and pretending like he was "giving them" all of his stuff.
Too good to be true. Either way, none of that had anything to do with me and I lost my account.
GG, Anet.
Banning all of the people who would have bought GWEN for reasons hardly anyone is aware of is definitely a GG.
